heat shields and sound deadening

sorry i posted this in project and build. i ment to post it in the questions board, but i dont know how to switch it.i will go ahead and ask the question anyway.i know there is dynamat, hushmat, fatmat and spray on. but they are all pretty expensive. they are all buytl based and get really gooey when they get hot. i affraid to put it on my roof for fear of it bleeding into my headliner. what else is every one using? i am looking to protect the roof and firewall from heat and sound. and the sides and door panels from sound.

I am using the foil air bubble insulation available at big home supply stores. 3M 77 adhesive keeps it in place, make sure you mask well and know where it is going it is a permanent adhesive.
