3rd Place Winner at Local Car Show
I was asked awile ago for some better pics of my truck and never had the chance to take any nicer pictures. So, I got my truck cleaned up for a car show a couple of weekends ago, and now have some photos to post...

I was surprised to win 3rd place in my class (Modified 1967-1975 Chevy Trucks). There were several trucks that I thought would surely be voted as better, but iy was nice to take a prize for my work. Re: 3rd Place Winner at Local Car Show
The paint I used was paint I bought about 20 years ago. If I remember correcty it's 1988 GM Saphire Blue or Dk. Saphire.
I did not have enough to completly finish the truck so I took the label to the paint store and they fixed me up with some more paint. The new stuff matched the color but looked much nicer than my original paint. The new paint is a single stage metalic, which was a mistake, I was told afterwards metalic paints are better sprayed with the 2 stage style (base coat & clear coat). The new paint also seems to have some kinda pearl added to it. When I went back to the paint suppler to find out why it did not match up perfectly, they stated: new paints are made much nicer and look better. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...evyTruck06.jpg This is the 20 year old paint.... http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...evyTruck11.jpg This is after the new single stage paint. As you can see the color looks the same, but a much nicer look paint.... http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1311876271 Here you can see the older paint on the dash, and the newer paint on the glove box, ash tray, and radio delete cover. I am happy with the result. If I can find any labels or reciepts with info on them, I will post them for you. |
