Is he making you some that bolt on or what??

If so, you can take measurements from your current shock brackets. Use the outside dimension of the bracket as the inside dimension of the 'extender'. They bolt-on in 2 different places: a shock bolt goes through the original shock mount hole (and the extender) & another hole perpendicular to the shock bolt holes on the original lower shock mount.

If he can fab/weld them on, just extend the existing mount 3" lower. I usually also fishplate the spliced area for additional insurance.

Re: shock extension

The after market ones that I found only extended the shock mount by 2". I fabed mine and went about 2.75" for the extention. If I were to do it again I'd just put out the green for them. No that difficult just time consuming. The biggest cost was the 9/16" drill bit for the shock bolt hole.

Re: shock extension

You can use drop shocks if you wanted, i also heard people using the front shocks on the rear and didnt need to bolt on any shock extenders.I did a flip on mine and C notched the frame and dont have any shock extenders on it.
thanks
