Newer rims to older truck
I am finding all kinds of rims on craigslist for the newer trucks and pretty cheap. Will the the newt 8 lugs fit my 82 8 lug. I do like the newer aluminum rims

Re: Newer rims to older truck
They should fit, pretty sure all 8 lugs are the same

Re: Newer rims to older truck
They will fit. If you want to run the center caps you will have to purchase conversion lug nuts off ebay. The newer trucks have metric threads on them so you have to get standard lug nuts that are threaded for the center caps.

Re: Newer rims to older truck
The threads are 7/16 right?
Here you go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7-16-...s#ht_899wt_941 I guess maybe you have to contact him to get enough included for a 8 lug truck. |

Yes, the lug nuts off the newer trucks won't fit your studs.

Re: Newer rims to older truck
My studs on my 83 K20 are 9/16. Not sure about the rest of these trucks.

Yep 9/16 sounds right for the 8 lugs. Let me know if you do get the new style rims on your truck curious to see how it turns out looking :D

Re: Newer rims to older truck
backspacing is also a factor, newer wheels usually have too much backspacing, just depends

Re: Newer rims to older truck
Oh ok, I wasn't sure what size the studs were. You will need lug nuts like that though. I would suggest contacting that seller for the correct ones.
