Re: china rubber
Check with the vendors on this site. Check out Wes at Classic Heartbeat. He'll shoot straight with you. He's not the only one, though.

Re: china rubber
Try classic truck parts of America. I got mine there and they are great.

Re: china rubber
We have been using precision and also repops. I had 1 complaint about a weak ago on a set of precisions that we sent out that a clip fell out of it while our customer was trying to install them. Other than that they seem to be good. WES

Re: china rubber
I got mine from Classic parts and they have been great for over a year now, on the other hand I got my gas tank grommet from them as well and it started cracking a week after I installed it!

Re: china rubber
Here's something worse but related. I put new door handles on my truck (again!) and the rubber lock and handle gaskets that came with cracked 1 week after the install! That's ridiculous! I've never seen these crack before but worse yet, after a week? If you haven't figured out why I had to replace my handles again, it's because they pit within a few months.
We need to ban together and stop buying the bad brands. That would certainly send a message when the ones making this garbage get stuck with 'em. |

Re: china rubber
I bought some new clutch/brake pedals last year and they are already starting to crack and fall off.

Re: china rubber
Yeah, my gas tank filler rubber I got from Brother's is cracking bad - started after about two months. And the truck is in the garage all the time. :(

Re: china rubber
Hey you guys having all the trouble with your gas filler grommets... We have had our own grommet produced and we provide a 5 year warrantee against cracking, fading or any degradation. Made in the USA!! They are not as cheap as the others but you wont be pulling your tank every few months replacing it either.... WES

Re: china rubber
I see NOS gas tank grommets all the time on E-Bay. They're about 10 bucks. It's hard to go wrong with GM parts. .02
