Re: First Thread! My 72 project
It's a 1972 K10. I've already taken out the old 350 and have installed a fuel injected 350 from a 1998 silverado hooked up to Muncie 4 speed manual trans. true dual exhaust(Flowmaster Super 44 offroad), new posi trac rear end, new CPP disc brakes on all 4 wheels, new brake lines, gas lines, took out the original 373 gears and put in new 410 gears. Dana 44 front axle and 12 bolt rear axle. It has a 4inch Rancho suspension lift and a Performance 3inch body lift. Putting in eventually(out of money right now lol) Vintage Air and dual electric fans. The body work should be all done at the end of August/early September. I'll post more pics but it sucks cause i can only get one up at a time lol

Well, got the custom length ebrake cables from CPP installed and the correct z-bar on lol. Now I'm just waiting on all the body work, mainly the cab. If all goes well, hopefully at the end of August it'll all be done and we can make some serious progress on her. Fingers crossed

Re: First Thread! My 72 project
OK well, the floor is in the cab, i'll have photos soon, and both doors are in with the new rockers, cab corners...still some sheet metal work and to weld in the new dash since the old one was so shot to heck lol...then hopefully primer and blocking...

Im in the process of bead blasting my cab so i can begin panel replacement stage.I like your work stand better than mine, mines a 4x8 wooden cart with wheels on the bottem but it works for now anyway! |
Re: First Thread! My 72 project
I've got to do a new floor and rockers in mine, too. When you're done practicing on yours, we can do mine, lol.
Looks good for sure. |
Re: First Thread! My 72 project
Looking good. Any idea what color it will be?
|
Re: First Thread! My 72 project
Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. Ya, she was a PIECE lol. The bed liner I do not know the brand, the guy helping me with the body work, paint, and what not had a couple extra cases so we're RUST INSURANCING all the nice new body work lol, by spraying underneath the entire bed, cab, all four fenders, as well as inside the cab and the bed as well. The Floor was actually a really easy install...the rockers and MAINLY the cab corners are fighting us but nothing a cuttin torch and welder wont fix...The color I'm goin with is gloss black, hints all the detail to make sure the body is perfect
