WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Realizing they're rare, just seeing if there are any out there?
Also - Has anyone tried a 2003 Dodge Ram seat in their C10? The seat looks a lot like Buddies if you take the headrests off. I think I'm leaning more toward buckets and a console though. Looking for nice ones, understanding they're expensive. Nice frames would work too.. I'll build 'em up. Have cash, will travel if the price is right. Thanks. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Yes dodge seats have been installed, modifications required.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=386957 and there's another build thread that has them installed, but i cant find it now. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
I can get a set for $150 bucks, in good shape etc. I'd probably recover them with leather / houndstooth I'm more concerned with the width of the seat fitting (?) Looks like it works well though.. humm.

Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
I have a show quality restored 71-72 set with original truck brackets and a show quality restored center console in VA....1500 for the set---was for my 72 cheyenne super swb...

Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
1500 for all of it? Including the console? I am interested. Would you mind taking a few pictures for me? I can probably work out a road trip to VA. Midlothian VA to Cleveland TN, how far are we talking about? Do you think they'd fit in the back of a CRV with the seats down?
Let me know please sir, I would like to see them. Thanks Posted via Mobile Device |

I am pretty sure (99% ;)) they would fit. Probably would leave the brackets off because of the height of the seats with them. If you mapquest the 23112 zip it gets you within a minute of my house. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Let me see if the wife's up for a road trip :metal:
Are they black? / houndstooth? Thanks. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
They are black with the correct 71-72 scroll pattern

Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Imho, that is a good buy/offer there VA, the nice stuff is getting harder to find these days. Did you guys happen to see the black restored console that ended up going over the $600. mark recently on ebay? Mel :bowtie:

I already have the seats packed up because I thought they were sold but the guy ended up having me find another set and recover them in a different color for him...I'd rather not unpack them so I'll look for pictures I sent to him and post them later this evening. Here is the console...pictures came out horrible....let me know if you need better ones... http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...B/IMG_5550.jpg http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...B/IMG_5549.jpg http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...B/IMG_5548.jpg |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
The marks on the stainless in the pictures are fingerprints. He used an original ashtray and polished it...not repop...
No cracks or blemishes...good grain all over. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Jonathan - I am interested but I'd like to see the pictures if you can(?) No hurry. I understand about unpacking them and why you wouldn't want to. Just talking about the other pics (for the other guy)
It might be a couple weeks before I could make it up that way, if I decide to get them could you hold them for a couple weeks? I could send you a deposit and work out something(?) I don't know man. They are beautiful no doubt but they would be at the high end of my budget. .. and of course gas for a 1,000 mile trip. Shoot me the pics when you can and we can go from there I guess. Thanks. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Mel maybe I need to sell some consoles on ebay.

Here is the only picture of the buckets I can find. It is from when I purchased them....I can't find the others I took. If you need better ones I will unpack them if you are interested in purchasing them. The cores used for these were the best originals I've seen. I do have another equally great original set that I am about to have professionally recovered so if you wanted a different color than black I can do that. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...1-72seats1.jpg And here are the others I am about to have recovered....can do them in black also or another color... http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/IMG_6206.jpg |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
I'm guessing you put new foams etc. When you had them redone? Is $1500 your best price? I'm serious, I'll be in the car on Friday night, if this weekend works for you (?). I just need to convince the wife, Richmond vs. Savanna GA. I have talked to her and she didn't seem opposed to the idea.

I have been getting 1200 for the seats and 450 for restored seatbelt consoles so that's actually 1650...I'll do 1450 to give you a little extra off to help pay for one tank of gas or a nice dinner for your wife :D. |
Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Ok, fair enough. Let me see if I can put something together, I'll try to make it work. I'll let you know.

Re: WTB: 71-72 Bucket Seats
Johnathan - I'm really going to kick myself I know, but I'm going to have to pass these up. They're worth every dime of 1600 (what I'd have in them) I just can't bring myself to let go of the money right now. Yes, I want some buckets and console but yours are finished and super nice putting them beyond the 'one drop' lump sum of cash for me right now.
I don't know if you read my build thread or not but Sat (after I posted this) I tried to start my big block truck and it's slinging oil out the drain hole of the dust shield. I either have a problem in the oil filter somewhere (?) Or I'm going to have put a rear main in it. My dishwasher went out a few weeks ago, my wife wants tile floors in the kitchen, etc. I could do a good set of cores right now I'm just not ready for the show set right now. My gut's telling me no. I'm sorry man. Chad Posted via Mobile Device |
