71 K-20 4-spd shift & transfer case levers
I want to repaint these and wondering how hard it is to remove them. Is it is a matter of punching out a roll pin, or would I find it much easier just to repaint it in the truck?

Re: 71 K-20 4-spd shift & transfer case levers
Tranny:
BLOCK WHEELS place tranny in Neutral remove knob remove boot use a channel lock pliers to press down on the "pivot ball" and turn CCW to remove If you look at the side of the shift tower there is a pin on each side and that ball just has tabs that keep the shifter in... just like a tail light bulb. T-case: place lever where it is easiest to get to the pin on the bottom. remove knob remove boot remove cotter pin and clevis pin remove bolt that holds lever to side of adapter You can also paint them by removing the knobs and boots, mask off everything around them and paint them installed |

Got the tranny shifter out, thanks!
t-case looks pretty easy other than some possible contortionist moves. |
