Replacing Drip Rails
Drip rails have been taken off for painting the cab, now I want to put them back on. I noticed that there is some type of sticky tape or for better words caulk on the back of them (to prevent leakage through the mounting screws I guess) can I just clean this off and put some type of sealer in place of, WHAT WORKS BEST? Do I have to buy new ones, surely not!

I didn't even do that. I took mine off for painting and then just put them back on (without a 'gasket'). I haven't had any problems with them leaking.

I would highly suggest you put something there. Water could work down into the holes and build up inside. Alot of water flows around those rails in the rain. Have you looked in the LMC book to see what they show as being there?

It seems to me that clear RTV would work great. A very thin bead down the whole thing and a nice dollop at each screw hole.
