camper shell/bed cap
Can anyone tell me where to get a camper shell for my 84 long bed?
I've seen one model I think from Leer but not sure of the cost... |
Re: camper shell/bed cap
I sold the topper that came on my truck on Craig's List for $250. That's where I'd start looking.

Most toppers are standard sizes for short and long beds, etc. I have a 72 Chevy long bed. The guy that bought it put it on a late model Ford and it looked like it came from the factory.
The one I sold had lights inside, sliding windows on the side and front. |
Re: camper shell/bed cap
X2 - a camper shell is long bed or short bed - that's it -AFIK.

Re: camper shell/bed cap
For the older trucks, for the most part a short bed canopy will fit any short bed, same for the long bed. It's the newer trucks that there different because newer trucks are more rounded, and company's have to make the canopy to flow with the roundness.

Re: camper shell/bed cap
So I found a nice one at a good price off of a 92 dually with an 8' bed.
Will that work? |
Re: camper shell/bed cap
in 88 they tapered the bed in the rear. Those don't fit right.

Snug Top still makes a nice cab high unit for 73-87s and will color match to your truck.....

Re: camper shell/bed cap
Keep searching Craigslist. I found one close by for $75.00. SWB Leer Macho model. No broken glass, fwd sliding window, side sliding windows with sceens and no keys for the back lift glass ;) Looks cool. Don't have a pic of it now.
