moog ball joint Castle Nut Torque
i'm working on my 68 c10 and I misplaced my instructions for my moog upper and lower ball joints. I am not sure of the torque specs on the castle nuts. If i would get some help right away that would be great. So far on here I found 50 ft for the upper and 90 for the lower. but im not sure if thats for moog or just OEM.

Re: moog ball joint Castle Nut Torque
I didn't bother about torque specs with mine, I just tightened them till the the nut wouldn't go any further and I could get the cotter pin in.
Not sayin that's the right thing to do, it just seemed like a common sense approach for me. |

Re: moog ball joint Castle Nut Torque
i'll have to say I've never used a torque wrench for ball joints or tie rod ends either.

Upper Ball Joint Nut * 50 ** 90 **100 *50 **90
Lower Ball Joint Nut **90 **90 ***80 *90 *90 Confused by this ? |
Re: moog ball joint Castle Nut Torque
Confused me at first too. If you look at the very top of his post you will see it lists four models. Each number corresponds to a specific model. ie. The first number is for a c-10. At least that is what I think.
