New WA chevy owner

Hello everyone. I recently got a 1962 Chevy C20 pickup. Its got a 350 v8 from a '74 olds and a muncie sm420 4 speed tranny. I traded my 2002 ford crown vic police car for this rig. The paint was redone and the flatbed built back in '08. I've only owned the truck for a few days now but its been an awesome rig. Its got collector vehicle plates, though. those will have to go since there's no way i can keep my daily driver under the yearly mileage limit, plus it will definitely go to work hauling things like scrap, lumper, and old cars. here are a few pics of the truck.

Holy crap! it is! i didn't even notice that lol. the registration says its a '62 so i'd assume that its a '62 frame

check the frame. the only thing is the 64-66 cab would need extensive mods to work on a 62 frame.

If it helps any, the grill looks to be a 62

I'm gonna look around for some VINs and other marking/numbers on the truck today and hopefully come to a conclusion. its having some ignition issues that need to be worked out as well. it pretty much sat in a garage with just occasional use since '03. in the past week or so that i've owned it, i've put quite a few miles on it and things are loosening up and coming out of adjustment a little bit. it got a new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and an air filter yesterday. i can't get it to start now. i suspect that one of the wires coming off the ballast resistor broke, but i'll take a closer look at it today and see if that is the case.

i checked the vin on the body and its the same as the VIN on the title that says its a '62.

How about the vin on the cab? Does it look like it has been changed?

the grille is 60 or 61 4headlights. the cab is 64-66. please post vin. and picture of vin placement. it used to be easy enough to change year on title when registration and leave vin as is . old money.

Re: New WA chevy owner

sorry to bump such an old thread, but i finally found out some info on my truck's VIN situation. The truck was pieced together from a few different c series trucks of that generation and then inspected by the washington state patrol. the WSP then assigned a vin number to it. There's a WSP vin tag on the left frame rail, next to the motor as well as the driver side door jam

EDIT: another update, this one i figured out quite a while ago. The engine is not from an Olds, it's a Chev 350. Still gotta find a vin of some sort to find out what the engine came out of.
