Re: Wiper blaes ?????
I just went to Advance Auto and bought the "top of the line" of what they had there. Cost me about $15 for both blades, and I couldn't be happier. They work just fine. I can't remember the name though.

Re: Wiper blades ?????
TRICO EXACT FIT blades have always worked well for me. I just installed a set of NAPA's new 17 inch "CURVE" blades so we'll see how well they do and last.

On the stock wiper arm

Re: Wiper blades ?????
Yep, they fit on the stock wiper arm.

Re: Wiper blades ?????
I always buy the auto zone blades that are made for snow. The rubber is very soft and moves snow real good and the soft rubber squeegees the rain off in the summer!

Re: Wiper blades ?????
never bought them but always wanted to buy the PIAA silicone blades. - The r suppose to last a very long time

Re: Wiper blades ?????
I just cant get my blades to stay on the lil metal tip of tjhe arm

Re: Wiper blades ?????
There's supposed to be a hooked end on your wiper arm. If someone swapped yours with something different, it wouldn't surprise me if they don't stay on. On the blade itself, there's a locking mechanism that the hook goes through and it holds the blade securely in place. It's pretty simple if you have the right parts.
This picture is small, but you get the idea. Look at the blade; the hook should hook into the top of it. You'l hear a click, and it's stuck there. http://img1.topfreebiz.com/o2010-7/c...2232715609.jpg |

Re: Wiper blades ?????
I bought the cheapest ones I could find at Walmart. I had to re-use the plastic tabs off the Anco wipers I had though, the ones on the cheapies just wouldn't work. They wipe and last just as good as any other blade though.
I scored the next time I went back to get the cheapies, the remaining stock they had of that brand was marked down for clearance at $2.00 each. Guess who bought all the 16" blades? |

Re: Wiper blades ?????
In the desert any wiper blade will have the rubber rot out in 6 months or less. So, I usually buy the cheapest. I got a pair of the new style thick flexible wiper blades at Costco recently, so I will see if those work any better the next time I need a blade change. Those new style flexible blades are on all of the new vehicles I have bought recently and the do wipe the windshield a lot better with no chatter during a sprinkling rain and they don't leave any streaks of unwiped windshield like the old style ones do when they start to wear out. My 83 blades just have a straight end with a round dot - the blade just slides on and the hole in the blade snaps over the round dot on the wiper arm. The charts at the auto part store always have a chart for your vehicle, but the wiper blades usually come with more than one adapter for a universal fit - you need to pick the correct adapter for your wiper arm.

That little nub on the older ones has to line up with the hole in the wiper blade mounting hardware otherwise you're gonna loose the blade. |
Re: Wiper blades ?????
rain ex window treatment in the washer bottle and on the window means i hardly use my wipers ever
|
Re: Wiper blades ?????
"There's supposed to be a hooked end on your wiper arm." I agree.
I also like Anco blades and I use RainX wiper fluid. I drove 120,000 miles in 9 months and ever since a super heavy rain storm on the interstate in Kansas I swear by that wiper fluid. |

Re: Wiper blades ?????
If you look at the end of your wiper arm and look at the back of the universal fit wiper blade package you will see all of the options available for attaching wiper blades. Just match you new blades to the appropriate fitting in the blade package and you will be done. A good parts store can help you if you have trouble - try NAPA.

Re: Wiper blades ?????
no matter what wopers i buy for any of my vehicles i never seem to get more than a year outta them anyway, so i gave up buying the more expensive ones and wont spend more than like $5-6 per blade.. i dont really stick to one brand they all stink

my78,79 is straight flat with a nib
88 has pin love rain x i replace my blades when winter starts |
Re: Wiper blades ?????
I used to run Anco winter blades on everything, changed them every fall. (Maine)
When I lived in the desert, cheapest I could find, then put them behind the seat. If they were on the wiper arms, they were as good as rotted. |
Re: Wiper blades ?????
I put pin style 85 arms on my '83 due to the blades never locking on solidly. Much better.

Re: Wiper blades ?????
I bought a set of wiper blades that came with an adapter that allowed you to use the hook style blades on the flat bar style arm and haven't had a problem since. fits real tight on both ends (arm and blade)

Re: Wiper blades ?????
