Dynomat?

Has anybody Dynomatted (or a cheaper alternative) their truck? Im going to order about 70sq feet of sound deadening material (From www.b-quiet.com(Brownbread)). I was planning on the entire back wall from the bench down, the entire floor, what I can get of the firewall, and the doors.

Has anyone else done this yet? I need to get the rattling down from my stereo and I want to quiet out the drone from my turndown. :barf:

Im also going to re-weatherstrip the doors and everything to have a ultra-quiet cab.

Dynamat is great stuff, pricey, but great. You will notice the difference, especially in the doors. Pretty much everywhere is good.:D

When you put it up, make sure you thoroughly clean the surfaces you are going to cover, better for adhesion.

Good luck!

If you want to shell out the extra cash for the foil-backed stuff, it works great on the firewall and floor to keep out heat.

dave(lohrtbt) has 2 layers of the stuff in his truck.

How thick is this material, and how do you install it?

I hae brownbread & it works great, and is much cheaper than dynamat. there are many ways to apply it too. The most common and cost effective way is in 3" squares installed in a "checkerboard" pattern. I asked a world winning SPL champion, that was how he told me to do it.

I've used the spray on liner and that worked really good. Bought mine from Crutchfield, I think it was made by Rockford Fosgate. I don't know if they still carry it, that was about 6 or 7 years ago.

Yeah....Dynamat is great....other stuff is much thinner and not as sticky. :) Makes a big difference

CHEVY_FOREVER 04-14-2003 05:01 PM

How many feet would it take to do the whole cab (everything) and doors. Does it make it pretty quiet inside? I am sure it would have to make a big difference right?

Later,
