Replacement / aftermarket seats
I would love to see and read about anybody out there who has replaced their seats with some sort of aftermarket ones. Whether they be newer model ones from a Tahoe/Suburban or some other brand. I want to replace both front and rear seats in my 72 Blazer. Thanks so much.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
I put in Corbeau RS recliners. My first suspension seat and they are freakin AWESOME!!!
Not cheep as I had to save up of them but well worth it. Now my seat never gets flat after a day of wheeling!! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-e...beauBajaRS.jpg This was my old 'van' seat : https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-o...0/100_1236.JPG New seats: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-i...0/100_1232.JPG Mounting bracket I made ~ Corbeau does sell brackets but kinda pricy https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-V...0/100_1295.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-H...0/100_1292.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-x...0/100_1297.jpg |
Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
Thanks Burt.
I have looked at the Corbeau Sport Seats. i am having a hard time finding the right kind of seats for the amount of time/money i want to put into them. Looking at 07-11 tahoe/suburban/silverado/sierra seats for front and rear. i just havent figured out which of the items on my list of "must have features" will win out. Keep posting please. |
Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
These are procar 90s that I bought from summit for about the same price stock bucket seat covers would cost, Plus these recline and look somewhat like they belong there. They also come in a variety of colors and fabric.

my front seats were out of an audi. the back seat was the original one, got it recovered to match the front seats. i custom made the driver side mount so the seat will slide back and forth and the passenger seat i used the factory mounts.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
nice nice. i am trying to find a back seat replacement that has integrated shoulder belts. i have three kids and would like to keep them as secured as possible. i havent built a roll cage yet and dont plan to for a while, so i am trying to work around that for now by getting seats that have built in shoulder belts.
Thanks for the ideas guys. Please keep them coming. |
Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
There is someone on here that installed new SUV seats, 2nd row seats with integrated belts for the back seat. . They bolted them to a frame that was then bolted to the original holes in the floor. They folded all the way down. Nice setup.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
That is exactly what i am intending to do. I bought some 2006 suburban front seats and third row seats. The third row seat brackets were included so i will create brackets to hold them and then bolt the brackets to the factory rear seat bolt holes in by Blazer.
I am also looking to sell my original seats that are in great condition. Shoulder belts for the front and three lap belts for the rear included. i just need to get them posted on the sale forum. |
Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
72truckman is the guy I'm talking about. Maybe you can message him and see if he can send you some pics of his frame work. His truck is sweet.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
i installed some seats out of a 90's bronco. I wanted them for the slides. When released they fold and slide all the way up to the dash making entry to the rear WAY easier than the stock set up. I had to fab up my own mounts but it came out really slick. I could get photos I suppose but my rig is a driver and not nearly as pretty as what is shown around here.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
Havnt installed mine yet, but they're out of a 97 Chrysler Sebring convertible. Leather (want to add butt heat first), power driver/manual passenger, integrated shoulder belts, sliders on both, plan to reuse the forward tip bracketry or make my own when I do the passenger seat. Paid ~60 for both out of the local U Pull It yard.

Re: Replacement / aftermarket seats
Have you got rid of you old seats? I am looking for all three rows for my 71 burb. Your back seat would be a good 2nd or 3rd row seat. How far are you from Austin? What's you price? Thanks.
