What year drop sindle should I run?
 

I have a 67 C10 2wd that Im converting to 4 wheel disc brakes.

Finally decided I should sit at the big boy table and order some drop spindles haha.

My 67 front end is completely apart. I have donor front parts from a '79 with 1.25 thk rotors. I have new ball joints, tie rod ends, ready to go for this.

My question......What year spindles should I get? I know I need ball joints/tie rod ends to match the year of the spindles, but I think I read that the 73 & up drop spindles are wider than the 67-70. If I need different year ball joints, etc. so be it.

Am I better of getting the 67-70 drop spindles for my truck?

73-87 drop spindles are not 'wider' vs. 67-70 'conversion' drop spindles.

Swapping from drum spindles to disc spindles does increase the track width. If you're trying to keep the track width increase to a minimum, you could try CPP's 'modular' drop spindle that maintains the same track width as drum spindles. These cost a little more because you purchase the brake caliper bracket separately but you can also upgrade to larger diameter brakes later w/a simple swap to a different, bolt-on, caliper bracket.

Thanks for the reply! I guess since I have the ball joints/tie rod ends for the '79 spindles there really isn't advantage to running the 67-70 disc conversion spindles.

I'm not to worried about track width at this point. Just want to get a plan finalized since I'm just about done cleaning things up:metal:
