interior material question

Is this interior material specific to "Custom Deluxe" in 72 or was it available (but not common) in a Cheyenne, etc? Personally, I've never seen it in a Cheyenne. I kinda like it. I think. Maybe...

Oh yeah - meant to ask - is this what is referred to as "Highlander"??

Highlander Plaid. Available only in late '72. Blue, Green, Orange, and Black/Grey I believe were the available colors. Search the forum for it - lots of details about the option package.

It's cool and so retro! I had a blue one once and stupidly replaced the seatcover with a black houndstooth and dyed all the parchment interior pieces black.

I think the material is available as some NOS has been found by the right people.

Yes,the plaid inserts and Parchment interior are tell tales of the Highlander option which was available on '72 Custom Deluxes only

thanks guys - that's just cool. I like houndstooth, but this is not very common and I used to have an orange/white 72 C10, sure brought back some memories. I DIDN'T have the highlander option though (or this material). How did Chevy EVER think this would be so cool back then!? And 39 years later.

hmm - here's another one I am not familiar with - any of you got the name of this gorgeous setup? As you can see, it's on a cheyenne super (although I do still like the highlander better - you know what they say, "there can only be one.....")

Re: interior material question

I have a Highlander but the seat has been recovered. There's a place in Oregon called SMS Auto Fabrics that sells the plaid fabric. It's expensive but available. My wife does upholstery so I was planning on buying the fabric and have her make a new cover. However, I may have found a place that has the entire seat cover with the Highlander plaid. Hoping to know more in the next few days regarding availability and cost.

Reminds me of the old nylon ribbon woven lawn chairs.
