Do OEM bumpers have stamped part numbers?

Not having a local chrome shop I seized a free, spur-of the-moment offer to have front/rear bumpers delivered 4 hours south to El Paso/Juarez to be redone for my 72 K20 project. I'm nearly certain these are OEM (painted rear sport from another K20) but couldn't find part numbers. For what it's worth, the rear bumper license plate bracket did have a part number and each had all the correct brackets/bolts.

LOL, am I getting repop bumpers rechromed?!

Never noticed a number on any I've looked at but didn't really try to look.

Maybe someone here has seen a part number on the factory bumpers?

I picked up one from the original owner of a '72 Blazer about a month ago. He took it off about 6 months after buying it new and hung it in his barn. It will soon be gracing the back of my '67. Anyway, it has "51B23" stamped on the backside of the passenger side of the bumper. I can take a pic of it for you later if you want. I'm not sure if it's a part number or not, but I'm assuming it is.

Thank you. I'd appreciate the photo when you have the time. Nice barn find!

It was a good barn find. The guy had long since gotten rid of the blazer, but he was in the process of cleaning up. There's some very light storage rash, but the thing is absolutely 100% straight. To beat it all, he only wanted $20 for it. I actually tried to give him more for it, but he wouldn't take it. Here's a pic of the bumper and the stamped number on the back. It's hard to make out the 1, but it's there.

Looks good. I'll check when they come back from El Paso. Thanks again!

If you can make the time that would be great. I'd really appreciate it.

Paul Duncan (Duncan & Son) called and told me that OEM front bumpers had only two holes for the plate whereas repro bumpers all have four. My front bumper above has only two holes.
