Chevy vehical placard

So how does this thing go on?
The rivets they sent with it dont fit in the holes in the placard.

Unless you have a letter perfect resto I would just pop rivet it in place. Otherwise since the new rivets are larger you drill out both the card and the mount.

Thanks Big Dan. I suspected as much. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

those rivits are for the vin tag later model vehicles usually on the firewall.
should be installed with a special tool.

Another fine examlple of vendors not having their act together! We have needed to return wrong parts, call for missing parts or just bad parts (3) times this week alone. ACCOUNTABILITY!

You might look in someone's similar truck that the tag has never been removed from to see what was originally there. Pop rivets are fine though as there isn't a vin number on that tag and you don't have to worry about issues with it being removed and replaced except if you are doing a full to exact original restoration and plan on showing it in national caliber shows where you may loose a point for having the wrong rivets.

How were the tags on the truck to start with? The ADs are the ones that were screwed on. I don't know much of anything about TFs. And I can prove it!

Re: Chevy vehical placard

There wasn't a tag on there to begin with, just a spot for it. I used pop rivets on it and it looks fine. I wish more folks around here had trucks like mine so I'd have an example to go off of; for this as well as other stuff.

All I got is YOU GUYS/GALS!!!:metal:
