85 k5 tranny problem

i recently bought a 85 k-5 blazer 350 5.7 liter w/auto tranny. problem...wont shift into drive. shifts into reverse fine , but shifter wont go down past reverse into drive. any ideas??:chevy:

Have to checked to see if the linkage is hitting anything? Thats were I would start.

I agree totally sounds to me like your shift linkage is bent out of shape. Does it have a TH350 or 700r4 in it?

pull the linkage off the trans and make sure it will turn full travle at the trans if it does ur likage is messed up if not the trans is
