Air Intake Temp Sensor
I've read somewhere that you need this to run, but in pulling apart my harness, I discovered that there weren't any pins for it in the location specified (I have an Alldata printout). Harness is from an '00 Silverado 5.3, DBC
Can anyone shed any light on this? I saved wiring from other pins I had to take out, so its no big deal to install one...I just need to know if I definitely need it! |
Re: Air Intake Temp Sensor

Re: Air Intake Temp Sensor
U need the IAT in any situation, wether its speed density or MAF use. Its used to calculate alot of things....
If you have a 5 wire MAF (5 wires going to MAF connector) then it has the IAT in the housing but you can relocate the IAT if wanted. If its in the MAF then I would just leave it, there is no need to add more wiring... |
Re: Air Intake Temp Sensor
Thanks Shon
Turns out the wires were clipped to the MAF (which means I didn't get it with the harness) including the wire to the IAT which prob means it was there to begin with |
Re: Air Intake Temp Sensor
I stand corrected. lol I did not know that it was built into the mass. I just knew that mine does not have a seperate sensor that would be located in the in take tube like many you see in late model cars. :metal:
