Jack's truck
5 Attachment(s)
We lost my Father in Law the beginning of August. I ended up with his old fishing truck. Had quite a few good fishing trips with him in this old truck. I am going to try to fix it up a bit. I think he would have liked to see it cleaned up.

Had to correct the altitude. 4-6 drop, Bell-tech spindles and flip kit, cut one coil from stock springs.

Re: Jack's truck
Looks great. It's ready to go fishing. :)

Re: Jack's truck
Its a 4.3 5spd truck with 190k+ miles on it. Still runs great, although smokes a tad sometimes. Going to try to even the paint out by buffing the basecoat out. All the clearcoat came off the first time I pressure washed it.
I have a rollpan to install, and a wish list of things I would like to do eventually. For now I am just going to drive it and be thankful I have another project finally. |
Re: Jack's truck
Subscribed -- looks good. You can really tell where that bugshield was!
Glad you got a cool new project, but sorry for your loss. |

So True. I see yours and mine and the only difference is the color. Keep it going. I love it even more now that I put in the automatic. Soon a bigger motor. :sumo: |

Re: Jack's truck
I am tired of the 5spd already, so a auto swap is definately in the plans. 6.0, 4l80 sounds like a good plan. Wonder where I could find a combo like that. ;)

Have been getting a little done. Picked up some new caps from Hubcap Kingdom in Tulsa. I was expecting some take off caps, ended up with what was a make ready package that would have shipped with a Safari van when new.
Attachment 847763 Attachment 847764 Also ran a buffer over it to try to even out the paint a bit. |

Also finally got the roll pan installed. The color is way off, I will reshoot it soon.

Re: Jack's truck
Uhmm, you know my vote ;) . Roll pan looks good considering how it was done. Too bad the color wasn't lighter. Where's the 'updated' grille pics?

Re: Jack's truck
I like the grey wheels better , but let me say you have done a great job with this truck . I enjoyed reading through the build and really like the truck and its evolution . Keep up the good work .

Re: Jack's truck
I will get a pic of the grille when I get back to town.

Re: Jack's truck
I like the darker wheels. And I recently got some flat 88-98 caps the same way -- truck got custom wheels at the dealer before the caps even got mounted. They were in awesome shape.

Re: Jack's truck
How about a set of 20x8.5 and 20x10 Boss 338's.
The offsets were designed for these trucks. |
