bold on exhaust and original seat sholder belt conversion?

Exhaust:
Looking to throw a new exhaust on my '72 Jimmy (350 4WD stock), and not afraid to do it myself as long as it doesn't involve a ton of welding. I've only really found the generic and magnaflow (welding intensive) kits in LMC, but not much else. Has anyone else found other pre-bent kits out there for the Blazers/Jimmys that are worth anything? Found some old threads on the generic with mixed results. I heard edelbrock had a kit, but can't find it. Just wondering if I should spend the extra $150-200 to have a custom job done. The previous owner hacked something together with differnet pipes and too many clamps to comprehend. It's actually running so close to the transmission that it's touching the spedometer cable and snapped the inner cable... so had to drive it home 900 miles with no speedo.

Shoulder belts:
Anyone ever seen the original seats converted to hold shoulder belts or a 4 point harness (I'd love to see pictures)? I've seen a couple people switch out the seats all together, but looking to maintain the original look. Also, when re-doing the seats, what's the best material if you're going to go topless most of the time?

I still really like the fit and setup of the LMC kit. Had to cut down two of the long pipes and otherwise it pretty much bolted in.

I used this kit from Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/89007/10002/-1 and just added my own mufflers. Was a pretty much bolt on affair and I went back later and just welded all the joints.

Not sure what you would do about the seat belts, I upgraded to integrated belts.

If you're looking for an original style Blazer/Jimmy exhaust system with front Y-pipe, big round single muffler and single tailpipe out the drivers side like the factory had, but you want more exhaust flow (not more noise), then consider the medium & heavy duty truck/bus mufflers. They're 5", 6", 8", 10" diameter, 28+ inches long, cylindrical or oval in shape, single or dual pipe inlets, 2.25", 2.50", 3.0" dia. inlets/outlets, some are even stainless steel.

Edelbrock no longer makes exhaust systems, they got out of that part of the business. Just so you know. Anything you might find would be left over stock.

I'd go custom if you know of a good shop. The only good kits I've used are in the passenger car market.

Some of those kits I've used,,,,,Pypes, Flowmaster, Mufflex, Dr. Gas, and Torque Tech. You could check one of those and see. Some of them do offer kits for trucks, just not sure about blazers.

Pypes is always expanding their products so they might be your best shot, and to be honest, it's one of the best fitting and best sounding setups I've used to date, and it's stainless and priced similar to most aluminized systems on the market.

If you've got a roll bar, you can mount the shoulder harness to the roll bar. Otherwise there's really no way to put shoulder belts in a Blazer without going to the integrated belts on later models.

Maybe I was wrong. Someone posted this on another topic:

http://brochures.slosh.com/index.shtml?1972

It says the top had an integrated shoulder belt mount.

Of course, that only works if you've got the top on.

The white cap (red arrow) is removed to reveal the shoulder harness attachment point. There's one on each side for the front seats as well for the back seat.
