Anyone know about photo studio rates??

I have recently come into a photo studio , big enough to do multiple cars and was wondering if anyone has had work like that done and what it cost ...
Any help would be much appreciated...

Wait, like you went into one, or somehow you all of a sudden own one? Thats pretty sweet if thats the case.
I didn't have my truck shot, but I have had a pro auto photographer do work for me on another project. This was an on-site shoot, so the studio itself wasn't involved. He charged around $70 for an hour-hour and a half, with a finished full CD of images within 4 days. He said its anywhere between $60-125 per hour for automotive shoots he did.

hope it helps

I have heard any where from 25.00-55.00 an hour for studio rental depending on equipment and facilities 250-550 a day ,unless it is a place for the big 3 ,then the sky is the limit... Just wondering , i have seen a few trucks here that look like they were shot in a studio...

Did you ask the studio how much they charge?

I will say, that studio shoots seem like a bit of a waste unless you need one of 2 things; the ability to 100% control background and eliminate reflrections, or you want to do undercarriage or interior shots in controlled lighting. If you plan on doing anything with the images, like using them on a website or publication, then the studio shoot will be worth it. You have much greater control, and can use a solid background so photo editing will be much easier in the end. Thats also why you pay the premium for the full equipment rental with fill lights etc.

HOWEVER if you just want really cool pics of your truck, get a local photographer to shoot your ride on scene. Despite the fact that you lose some lighting and background control, you still get pretty awesome results. As long as he has a good camera and a light meter, you'll be pretty happy with the results.

A friend of mine owned a studio for school photos and we built an outside set that looked like an old gas station. He charged $250 for a shoot with 14 proofs then you could order prints off the proofs.

This studio is the next building over from where I have my machine shop .. it comes complete with lighting and it is a curved room (no corners) done in white from floor to ceiling.. I will have to post some pics of it , maybe even mess with some photos of the truck....the reason for this post is to see what to charge... forum members would get a discount of course.. lol
