74-87 sport bumper

Will a 74 long bed sport bumper go on an 87 short bed truck ? Fleet side trucks. If not, why not.

It will fit but won't match your front bumper. The brackets are specific to the bumper not the truck. There are two brackets 73-80 and 81-87.
