anyone have a cnc mill
 

just wondering if anyone have one in there garage ,cnc mill ,i found one for sale and was thinking about buying it and learn to use it and make my parts and do hobbie work .

we do but its 3 phase. most good ones are. What type is it? And the condition? Fixing one that does not work correct can run $150.00 per hour.

Willie, the post was deleted by it's author, so I missed it.

That said, if you haven't any exposure to the machinist world*, I would
think a used vertical Mill (like a Bridgeport or a clone of one) and with as
much tooling as you could get (!!) would be a great starting point.

Heck, you can even do lathe work with the right tooling and it can be
the most impressive drill press in the garage!

I don't know how much they wanted for the CNC but a good, used
vertical mill can be had for a grand or less...an a ton of fun.

*Since I don't know what your capacities are, I posted the
above. If you you can program a CNC mill, then that very well
may be a very viable option for you.
I didn't mean to sound like a CNC was beyond you...just
explaining the basics applicable for most folks.
