Inner shaft seals front Dana 60
Im tired of having to change my front diff fluid after every time i go wheelin. Im pretty sure i got it figured out how to get the old seals out and the new ones in but I have never pulled a ring gear and carrier out or installed one. My question is since im no putting new gears in do i need to do any backlash setting or any shim stuff because if i do i have no ideah what im doing lol. If i dont then all i gotta do is pull the bolts off and the chunk will fall out right? Also whats a good brand of seals to get for this because i dont want to have to do it for a while! lol Any help would be great!

Re: Inner shaft seals front Dana 60
Yes you can pull it. On D44 & D60 the adjustment shims are pinched inbetween the bearings & carrier so simply pulling the carrier will not disturb the setup..now will it "fall out" prolly not but you can carefully pry it out once the axels and caps are removed. Mark the caps cuz you want to put them back exactly the way they were.
I don't have the info on the seals but many sites talk about them so google it. :mm: :chevy::mm: |
