Picked up this 74 custom the other day. Its soild for NY. Gotta do rockers and corners but thats really all. It was a 3 on the tree put someone moved it to the floor.

Inline 6 250 with 130k. Anyone have any dealings with the 250 before? This is my first 6cyl in a square and am just wondering if I should be on the look out for, thanks

nice truck.

Inline 6 engines are virtually indestructable...keep the six and enjoy driving the truck!

Thats what Im thinking. Im putting everything back to stock and am going to drive the daylights out of it. I cant wait. The po had done some crazy wiring to it. So I got to figure that all out.

I think I am going to put a slider in the back window though. I love the steering wheel. My 75 never had the orginial wheel some I happy this one does.

I have a '78 with a 250. Mine has 3.73's in the back. It had three on the tree, until i put in 5 on da flo'. I thought the column shift was cool, but the ratios in the trans are unsuited to use in urban areas. Maybe in Rural Georgia 40 years ago the 3 speed was sufficient, but not today. The T5 I put in is from an '83 camaro, and it whines a little in 3rd gear, and has notchy shifts, but so far so good. You won't set any land speed records with the 250, but for a cruiser, it's fine. I added power steering to mine to...the power steering and the 5 speed really make it tolerable as a daily driver. My mpg went from like 12 to 15 in mixed driving, and as much as 17 on the highway.
