Should I drop my truck?

Looking for some opinions on what looks better. The first picture is how it sits now, the second picture is one I photoshopped. I didn't take a lot of time in photoshop but what do you guys think, drop it or leave it as it is? Also would this be close to a 2/4 drop or more close to a 4/6 drop? If you think I should drop it what is the best way to drop it without it riding really rough, I believe that right now the back has been dropped 2" with drop shackles.

Just a driving truck. It's my daily driver, I don't pull anything with it, and I don't haul anything.

P.S. I made a thread like this in the suspension section but I thought that this one might get more attention. If it's frowned upon to do this, I will delete one of the threads.

Re: Should I drop my truck?

Your photoshop drop is about a 3/6.. I would say a 4/6 drop would be good for a daily driver. The ride quality is going to depend alot on the stuff you choose, if you choose to drop it. I would start out right away with 3" drop spindles, and also cutting 1/2 coil off your stock springs will give you the best ride and 1/2 coil should be about an inch. I have tried a few shocks and I have found the ones I like the best are the Belltech Steet Performance shocks. A few of my friends run these shocks as well and love them.

Do whatever makes you happy man. You have a nice truck either way in my opinion.

Do a 2.5" drop spindle in the front and maybe put the rear springs under the rear axle, that would be the easy way to do it and not cost much.

I kick this idea throught my head all the time.

If I was going to use my truck for hauling, trailering, or other truck stuff, or a DD, I'd leave it alone.

If it's a weekend warrior that's not going to see much "truck" duty, go 3/6

If it's a car show truck, slam it till it scrapes.:metal:

This ---- i also like the post that says "Do what makes you happy" -- I love the look of a mildly lowered truck, but i also love hauling my dirtbikes to the motocross track (unimproved roads - sometimes large ruts - potholes , etc.
because of this, i left my truck alone. But if you dont do anything similar - drop it to your hearts content:lol:

Re: Should I drop my truck?

I agree, it depends on the roads. In PA, we supposedly have the worst roads in the country (regarding potholes, construction, bad asphalt, etc.). I could never get away with a real low truck, even if I wanted to. My friend has an S10 Xtreme that's practically laying on the ground and the body kit is all busted up and scraped to no end. If your roads aren't bad, you could drop it pretty far as long as you don't use your truck as a "truck" too much.

+1 and it'll still ride good with the spindles.

Merged, please don't do this. It is against the rules for a reason....

I say there are two rules to live by when it comes to vehicles

1. If it is a 4x4 lift it!

2. If it is a 2wd drop it!

p.s. I love the blue
