Here’s ours as purchased in 1992:

And in 2011 after a few changes:

http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/8074/004nf.jpg

There was an earlier thread on this topic, but the forum search deletes all 3 of the words in before and after, which I'm almost certain was the title of the earlier thread.

You discovered my secret – it was a rice cake with a smiley face painted on! Actually, it was just the factory diecast GMC emblem with some of the paint worn away. Here’s what it looked like originally. In fact this photo from the Jolly website may actually be of one of my emblems. They were in excellent condition except for the paint, so I donated them to his site:

Thanks for posting the new thread, it’s always nice to revisit this topic for a the new members that might not have been around for the previous versions. I just like adding older related posts so it’s easier for everyone to find more input in one place.

Amazing transformations. Nice to see that the truck continued to be updated rather than being sold at some point in history.

Very nice look! May I ask what tires you're running on the chrome smoothies? Mine came with them and I was planning on replacing them but dang they look good with those tires!

Thanks! I'm running 15x7's all around with 215/65r15's. The tires were actually raised white letter (Futura Super Sports) that I had 'buffed' at a local shop. Kind of a 'poor boys' wide whitewall...
