? Will '73, mid/late '70's 8 lug wheels fit on my 8 lug '69 C20 Suburban?
 

I was at the junk yard the other day and saw a '73/mid/late '70's Chevy or GMC 4x4 and am wondering if the 8 lug wheels off that will fit on my '69 C20?

I don't know the exact year of the truck I saw, but I do know it was a '73 and later. It wasn't in the '80's as far as I know.

yes and no.
The lugs on your truck are 1/2 inch, the ones off the later truck are 6/16ths. (starting in 71)
However, the taper on the lug nut is the same, and the lug nut will not bottom out on the hub. So it will in fact hold the wheel correctly on the hub.
I know this becouse I've been running like this since '05 with zero issues.

Thanks Longhorn. The price was right at $23 a wheel with the tires still on them. I still need to post pics of this '69 that we just picked up for my wife. It has aluminum mags on it. I prefer the stock wheels with hubcaps so that's what my intention is.

The only problem you could run into is with the hub diameter, as I picked up a set that fits my front axle and not the rear, so a quick tape measure of you hub/axle flange and a check of the junkyard wheels will avoid that.

Hey Lowrollin, thanks for that info. I'll check it out. BTW, I have a buddy out of OR, Erik Zamboni. One day years ago I said, "Dude what's a Zamboni?" Not knowing there was even a piece of equipment made called a Zamboni. He said it's a machine for ice. I had never heard of one before. Apparently his uncle was the inventor.

Yeah, most of the guys I work with in SoCal have no clue what a Zamboni is, but I go home (the Dakotas) and tell someone that I used to run a Zamb and it's like I'm a celebrity.
