72 motor mount question.

Alright i replaced my drivers side motor mount. Used the old bolts. Theyre all 3/8 with a 9/16 head. The 3old bolts that mount to the motor tighten down. The center bolt goes in and then just spins, doesnt snug down. Is this the way its suspose to be?went to the hardware store and 3/8 is the only bolt that fits but it wiggles in the hole. This is the first motor mount ive ever replaced. Thanks in advance!

Some of the new motor mounts take metric bolts

Factory center bolt was 7/16- coarse by 1'' or 1-1/4'' long.

That would not work for us... the only metric tools we have in our shop are a hack saw, cresent wrench and a hammer
