Cab Mounts

I am in the process of replacing my cab mounts and had the worst luck getting them out having three of the four break, so I had to cut the floor to get to the nuts. When I get the new hardware can I weld the bolts to the cab so that the bolts go through rather than the nuts being welded. Is there any disadvantage to this other than being careful not to bend them before mounting to the cab?

Yes there is a disadvantage.
You'd have to cut the floor again to remove the cab mounts.
What would you be gaining by welding the bolt and not the nut? (other than being the P.O. everybody talks about.)

The 4 cuts in the floor are still open right now, due to me not getting the hardware yet. There is no real advantage that I can think of, I just thought it might be a little nicer to only have to take the nut off the bottom instead of the whole bolt if I want to replace the mounts or remove the cab again. And I don't know where I would find the nuts like were on the truck, unless I just take a piece of metal, drill and tap each one.

Had the same issue on an 84. I was able to get the factory nuts off with soaking and heat. I just made patches for the floor and behind the seat, then siliconed them down. I'll have access should I ever need it again and they are covered. I bet someone sells those square nuts if you have to have them.
Good Luck
