anybody runnign headers and AC?
i was putting the headers on my '86 today, and started to remount the AC compressor. the #1 header tube is in the way of where the bracket is supposed to bolt. does anyone know which bracket it takes to remount the stock AC compressor? that was one of the big selling points on the truck for me, and i'd like to have it functional again. any help is greatly appreciated. BTW, i'm running FlowTech 11150 headers.

yep...have to cut your bracket. ;)

nevermind, Ryan made an interesting suggestion, so i modified the stock bracket, and its going to work great when in bolt it on in the morning. boy i bet my neighbors love me... i got out the sawzall and the bench grinder at 1am... good thing he's a car guy, he'll understand. i hope.

Hey Jeremey, let me know what you did, b/c I'm in the smae boat. Thanks, Gary.

gary, just notch the A/C bracket around the header, it sounds complicated, but look at it and it works out. just be careful with the sawzall... especially if you have someone helping you, you might have a sawzall flying at a high rate of speed towards your head... ISNT THAT RIGHT.........DAVE?

i chocked mine up in the vise, and cut the ear off that mounts to the 2nd header bolt. i bolted it up this morning, and it works fine. you barely notice its gone unless you're looking for something "not quite right". very easy to do.

OK, sounds easy enough.
