Wheel-well lip and tire interference
What do you guys do about the lip where the wheel well meets bed panel?
My truck has a bolt in c-notch on bags and when aired out, the lip sits on the top of the tire before the rear end hits the bump stops. The bed still has to go through paint and body work so options are open. thanks |

Narrowed rearend or different wheels.
Got any pics? |

inside lip around the wheel well? Trimmed it down during body work.

Re: Wheel-well lip and tire interference
I rolled mine in using a baseball bat between the bed and the tire. Just put it in there and slowly roll the truck forward. Worked for me!

The bat trick works when done properly but.......
Make sure you use a WOOD bat! |
Re: Wheel-well lip and tire interference
i agree with rolling the lip with a bat, yes a wooden bat!! the inner lip is about an inch, so it should help with the clearance

Re: Wheel-well lip and tire interference
I cant picture how the bat trick works? The bed still needs paint and body work so if it doesnt hurt anything to cut it out, then il do that?

Re: Wheel-well lip and tire interference
I personally wouldn't use the bat method, too many risk of damaging the fender sheet metal. They make a fender roller usually around 150-300+ for them, but you can easily make your money back by offering to do the service for a fee. They are pretty easy to use, just need a jack, take the wheel off, mount, set-up and proceed to roll.

I use a hammer and dolly when I rolled mine. I'm running a 4" drop in the rear.

Oh. I see now.
I'm not talking about the fender lip. I'm talking about where the inside bed panel meets the wheel well bolted into the bed. Where they meet is a seam. That seem comes down inside the wheel well like an inch. Posted via Mobile Device |
