1984 CCSB Project: WHITEOUT
Here is my project, Project Whiteout.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...b/IMG_0447.jpg A little back ground information, I bought an 85 CCLB dually and converted it to 4x4 and replaced the cab from an 84. I am almost ready to get the truck on the road, but I have came to the conclusion that a CCLB dually is not going to be very DD friendly for me (If you want to read the build so far you can find it HERE). So I am wanting to make a truck that I can drive everyday. This is where the short bed comes into play. I bought an 84 crew cab to replace the cab on the 85, and so I have an extra frame that I am going to cut down and make a short bed while I enjoy driving the truck as a LB dually for now. Then once the frame is done I will swap the body over to the short bed frame. Now for the project -Drive train
I plan on running a 4 inch lift kit and run some 16.5 inch wagon wheels with some 37 inch hummer tires. I am hoping to start working on this frame within the next month, as my truck should be on the road before to long and then I will just need to clean up the shop and I can start working on it. |

Re: 1984 CCSB Project: WHITEOUT
I like it I do have a couple questions.... from your Other Build thread I noticed you pulled a bunch of brackets.... off a K20...1 thats the 3/4 ton right) and were moving them to the 1 ton Location....... how hard was that to do...... I'm doing the Same thing you are.... 2wd to a 4x4 and was thinking of pulling brackets from a 3/4 ton as well..... ..... I like the short bed Idear....not my cup of tea personally but I'd love to follow the work!

Im not to fond of the short bed idea either, but it will make the truck more driveable, and short beds have really started to grow on me. Plus I have an extra crew cab frame to cut down so why not. Just time, got most of the stuff I need. |
