Satellite Radio Antenna

I've purchased a new head unit for my '66 and I plan on installing the satellite radio addon.

Has anyone installed one in our era of trucks and if so, where did you place the antenna? Logic would say to place it on the roof, but I'd like to explore some other locations that would be less noticable but still provide full functionality.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have mine tucked away on the left side of my dash right next to the a-pillar. I run the line down through the rubber weatherstripping and under the dash by the E-brake. Reception is fine and it isnt tacky. In fact, 99% of people probably never notice it at shows.

Great idea! Thank you. I got so focused on an exterior location, that I never considered inside.

Could someone please snap a pic. I'm seriously considering going sat on my 69. Getting spoiled I guess.

Note the cheapest route but I went with the Alpine CDE-124SXM as it came with everything needed (didnt have to buy separate headunit and sat tuner). I am very pleased with it.

I also went with Crutchfield as I think they are a GREAT customer service company. Not the cheapest but the best in my opinion. Additionally they often throw in extra stuff...in my case the reciever trim plate (to cover up the cut dash) as well as the wiring harness to go from the orginal to the Alpine.

Just looked there...they have it for $230 with a $30 visa card back.
