mirror glass

my wife did it again. she was backing her 99 Tahoe out of the garage and tagged the driver's outside mirror breaking the glass. it is power but not heated or any other feature. aside from dealer wanting an arm from my first born or buying a whole assembly where can a guy get a new glass? the ones at parts stores are a joke

Re: mirror glass

If you can't find the mirror buy the whole mirror at this site. Price is very resonable.

I have one of their outside mirrors on my tahoe... been there for a year... works fine, the paint is beginning to fade a bit, so i need to take it off and paint it... but that's it...

was around $30 for the mirror

Can't you find them a JY? So many vehicles used the same ones, it should be easy and cheap.

FWIW, I Line-X'd my mirrors painted surface years ago. No more pits, bugs, faded paint and they look as good today as they did 5 years ago. Cost only $40

I had the glass shop do mine when I was getting a windshield replaced, they cut it, sanded the edges, and installed it for like $15.

Re: mirror glass

I've also just bought the glass itself at Pep Boys I think, for my 89 IROC, and stuck it on myself, the only problem I had with that was I thought $15 (+tax) was alot of $ for a lil ol peice of mirror glass with some 2 faced tape on the back (15 yrs ago).

Edit: How come I can edit this one but not the one above?

AutoZone?!? When I worked there we had a lot of replacement mirror glass for a ton of applications, around 5-10 dollars I think? Been a while since then so they might not keep it anymore but who knows... :/
