62 292 mounts fit a 66?

Found a 62 truck with a 292, what I really want for my beater instead of the rebuilt 250 I was going to put in it.

Will the 62 1 ton 292 frame and engine mounts work in a 66 1/2?

Thanks,
Steve

292 I6 eng never went into production vehicles until 1963, so are you sure that it is a 292 and not a 235 0r 261 eng.

I was guessing, called the guy on craigslist and left a message. I didn't know the year split or when the 292 first was installed. The listing only showed the engine .Thanks for the info

The truck could also be a '63 instead of a '62. If that is the case, yes the motor mount brackets will work in your '66. Although, If I remember correctly, the '60-'62 1 tons had coil spring front suspensions instead of the torsion bars. So it is possible that someone has installed a '63 or newer 292 into that '62 1 ton, with the correct mounts.

I emailed him back, waiting to find out. I don't need another truck, just to have for parts!
