Need help locating driven gear for speedo

I need help locating a part for an 89-93 Dodge np205 transfer case. I have heard that they could possibly be the same as the parts coming from a chevy 205.

The part i am looking for is the steel, one piece, driven gear for the speedometer. it will thread into the threaded hole in my transfer case and mate with the plastic drive gear on the output shaft.

Here is a picture of what i am looking for:

Any help would be much appreciated.

Those look way different than the same GM pieces. Might be a Dodge only part. Might also see what Ford used in their NP205s??

Im curious that though the Chevy parts may not be all steel driven gears, will they interchange with the dodge parts. i have no idea how to tell if they would or not.

Also thought about changing the output housing on my 205 to a chevy housing. Not sure if that would do the trick either.

If I had to guess by looking at those and knowing what the GM pieces look like, I would say that the two would not interchange at all. Now, the possibility exists that you may be able to swap a GM drive gear on the output shaft and use a GM driven gear. The "nut" that retains that part looks very similar thread-wise to the GM piece so that is confidence inspiring. The GM piece stops right after the threads though. Do you have a pic of your output housing??

Time is almost here that i will need this part!

Hey Nick,

my output housing looks identical to a Chevy housing but i believe that the chevy housing has a support "sleeve" inside the housing opposite of the threaded opening.

What transfer case do you have in your rig? i cant remember but i believe that you bought a bare case and swapped internals or something along those lines?

I did not switch gears but my Chevrolet Speedometer will run off the Dodge Transfer bot 205 and the Ujoints were larger on the back of the Dodge but the output shaft was the same as the Chevrolet so a little swap and I could use stock chevrolet Driveshafts
