new 56 Chevy in the community ...
Hello,
I'm surfing this forum for the last couple of days ... and already found some very valuable information … I hope that when questions arise during the build, people here can help me out. But let’s stay polite, and first start with a small introduction : I’m from Belgium, a little over 40 years old and bought a 56 Chevy truck 3 months ago. Due to some home renovation that I had to finish first, I only started working on the truck since last week … Body has little rust (cab corners, underside of doors and lower hinge pockets) and a few dents, but all in all, I think it’s in decent shape … Interior needs some serious work … http://users.skynet.be/Cuypers/pickup/IMG_6885.JPG http://users.skynet.be/Cuypers/pickup/IMG_6895.JPG http://users.skynet.be/Cuypers/pickup/IMG_6892.JPG It got an upgrade to a Chevy 350/350 combination with a 12-bolt rear end. I hope to find some kind of serial#/build date when I remove it, so that I know more of it … The rear end is a bit too wide with the current wheels, so I need to figure out how to correct that (probably larger backspacing on the rims …) http://users.skynet.be/Cuypers/pickup/IMG_6887.JPG http://users.skynet.be/Cuypers/pickup/IMG_6899.JPG Plans are to tear it down completely, and build it up again. Since I don’t know the exact history of the engine/trans, I think I’ll overhaul these as well. Think that’s it in a nutshell … I already put the camera in the garage, so I hope I don’t forget to take pictures regularly… Wim Ps : and yes, we finally have a Government in Belgium … |
