Heater Issues

I've got a 1970 c10 longbed. The blower motor for the heater sounded like it had a bad bearing or was just shot. So I took the box assembly off the fire wall and replaced the blower motor and now I got nothing. The heating core is still getting hot, I just can't get the fan to turn on. I've checked the fuzes and they look good. Just looking for some help here. Not sure what else to do.

Theres a do-hicky things on the heater box or inside that gives you multi fan settings. Often it craps out with a new motor after many years.

mine went like that, I just give it a full 12volts and its like 5x more air then on high before and havent fixed it yet ;)

dark n cold or I could take a pick of my do-hicky, cell phone has no flash.

Not to Hijack the post like some people suggest i do often But if you use a Blower fan from a AC unit that is ment for the AC unit and put it in a Heater only unit Dose it blow harder then the regular heater blower motor.

Lately I've been given a choice of buying the one that just has heater only not a Air conditioning truck and i made a mistake on my 1972 that just has the heater and man that mother blows so dam hard and in 5 minutes when i first start the truck on a cold morning its up to 165 degrees in the cab

One other thing I just broke the fan switch on my 1968 3 door suburban its the middle slider on a heater only unit on the dash.I had a friend of mine tell me he was tired of braking that middle leaver so he bought the AC one and the fan switch is on the side of the unit and is so much easyer to replace the one AC leaver that he dose not use he leave it alone and the unit works grate he had to install the regulator on the side of the glove box to control the speeds but he said it works flawless

Give me back any feed back on what he's done will it work and what are the hit and misses of using it

and again sorry to hi jack the post My one thing on what is wroung is look at your cables on your leaver see if there pushing the valve or the switch far enough over to makr it come on

Check the ground.

Slightest miss in the connection will cause problems.

The lever problem is an easy fix.Use the kit from one of the vendors to rebuild it.They use a steel lever whereas the originals are made of pot metal. While you're at it remove the cables and soak them in oil.I put mine in a parts washer to clean the old lube out, then I let them lay in the oil pan with oil from a change in it.clamped tham gently in a vise and worked them to free them up good then reinstalled. They've worked well for 15 years.
