Is this a factory tow hitch
5 Attachment(s)
I have been told by some pretty knowledgeable truckies that this looks like something that GM or dealership would have put on as towing package accessory. Need to know... I know if we all put our heads together .... "WE CAN DO THIS" all I know is this thing is SUPER HEAVY DUTY... Tubular steel is MASSIVE!!

Re: Is this a factory tow hitch
Were receiver hitches around back in the 67-72 era?
I don't remember seeing those until about a decade later. |
Re: Is this a factory tow hitch
I don't think they were, only had the flat plate ball hitches back then

Re: Is this a factory tow hitch
There were Reese hitches back then. But,there was no factory option. That one you have was put on sometime later after it was on another truck first, judging by those washers. My '72 K2500 has one on it and the spare tire carrier is different. It has been set up this way since way back. My truck was used to tow an RV trailer all it's life...also has a 5th wheel mount and even a hoist.
