Freakin new guy from Ontario
Greatings all. I am Mike from Sarnia Ontario Canada. I currently have a 1979 C20 truck with a warmed up 350 th400 and a 14 full floating rear end with 4.10 gears. I have had this truck for 10 years now and every year I put a little more in it to fix it up. One day it will be done.

Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
After owning it for a few years. I had to replace the bed.
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...cture002-1.jpg Warmed up the motor. Yellow paint was the biggest mistake I ever made. I have never had any luck with it and it is chipping off. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...k/IMG_0921.jpg Hummer stuff http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...k/IMG_0906.jpg Freebie along with a second tank for the drivers side http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...k/IMG_1424.jpg To high http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...Picture172.jpg Lower but not low enough. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...k/IMG_1565.jpg I will have to post pictures of the interior as I have cleaned it up a little. I did solve my lean issue and I will be replacing the springs later on in the spring. |
Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
those wheels look geat!! i want a set!
|
Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
I paid 200 for the wheels in Michigan and 20.00 for all of the centre caps so the price was right. Tires are 275-60-r17 So far they have been great for the truck but I need more horsepower to do a good burnout.

Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
Sorry I forgot what brand I used but it was really western chassis
Hangers http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wst-2022 Shackles http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ws...rview/make/gmc I did have to drill new holes in my frame for the hangers in the front. |
Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
Thank you. All I could find are airbaggit it parts. How many holes did you have to drill? Did the hangers not line up with all the old rivet holes?
Thanks again for the help |
Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
No they did not line up very well. I lined up one hole that was in the factory and drilled out the rest. I cut the coils but I will be getting spindles from POL as I need new springs all the way around.

Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
One last question, how far apart were the old holes from the new holes? I dont mind drilling I just dont want two holes so close that it makes the mounting weak.
|
Re: Freakin new guy from Ontario
All of the holes were more then 1" away from what I remember. If there was to be one to be to close I would have welded it up but I did not do that to any of them.
