shipping burb headliners
 

Has anyone ever shipped any headliners out of burb? If you did how did you do it? Thanks for any help, Randy

Personally I would build a wooden box, probably with a 1x4 frame and a masonite board sides.

The two middle panels can be laid flat, but the front and rear are formed. So they need space with support, so that they do not crumble a corner during shipment.

I agree. I would also add a fair bit of semi-dense cushion around the perimeter of the frame as the edges of the headliner are very fragile. Something like styrofoam or maybe some door/window expanding foam in a bag. The door/window stuff does not expand as much as the regular stuff does. I actually need some headliner pieces, but have been very reluctant to buy them non-locally because of the hassle of packaging.

I bought an original headliner and bows from Sharpie a couple of years ago. He even sent a couple of extra panels as it was out of a rear ac truck and mine wasn't. He made a box out of heavy gauge card board that was as large as the biggest panel. It was about 6" thick. Corners were reinforced and it was really well taped. Came UPS and it was heavy, but it arrived undamaged.
