Found Out Something Interesting
I was taking of my right side rocker panel that was thoroughly rusted out and found that these are "stitched" on with brazing welds. Has anyone else run across this? The only thing I can figure is that GM did this in key areas to keep them from rusting through like spot weld would. Whadda ya think?

Sorry its not about weld question. I live nearby, sort of, Palm Springs area, do you Recommend anyone nearby that rebuilds rear diffs? I need to have mine looked at, and probably replace almost everything. Thanks for any help..

Oh YEAH
All the 1's Iv'e done have had somewherre betweeen 50 and 8 millon spot welds

Probably a repair from a small accident in the 70s or early 80s.
|
Thats what I thought. It looked like a repair being that there is about 40 spot welds on the other side. Well, now there is about 20 stitch welds from a MIG on this one!
