found my original grille its 15554912 whats the diff between it and 15554911?
 

my original grill that came in my 87 is 15554912 and i need a new one i found a 15554911 what is the difference? thanks

Probably one is for dual headlights and one is for single headlights.

seems to me like the 15554912 is just a casting number, the 15554911 number is the actual GM part number.

It's for a dual or quad headlamp truck, FYI

the 15554912 is the part number on the very top center of the grill that hidden when installed not sure of where to look for another part number?

might be one on the backside behind the emblem. Is it a GMC?

There is no difference. 15554912 is what is on my grille also. I looked at my GM parts book and 15554911 is the correct grille for the deluxe four headlight grille. I purchased a few grilles from GM and a few off ebay over the years. The grilles are exactly the same as my original, but with different part numbers.

I'm thinking they changed part numbers at some point.

15554911 includes the four stainless grille moldings
15554910 is also the correct grille but has no moldings

what ss moldings are you talking about? I know of chrome ones that arent actually on the grill but around the entire truck face but I don't think they are a part of the grill there just a thin chrome molding I'll look at my grill again to see if I see any chrome. thanks

thanks for the info weird how dealerships don't even see the 4912 as a valid part number.
