Need pic of IN BED spare tire carrier
It has been forever since I paid attention to the in bed spare tire carrier.... I have been wanting one for my truck and I found one today laying in the bed of a 58 truck. I think it is for a 60-66 at least looks like it will fit.
Does anyone have a pic of the factory in bed mount I can compare with ? |

The one I have and am refering to is contoured/shaped to the inside of the bed. I think it just has to be original to fit this well... I will post pics of this type tomorrow, after I take some |

Re: Need pic of IN BED spare tire carrier
The style in Revoh's truck is the one I have for my truck as well. They were the same style into the seventies. The later ones need to be shortened however.

Re: Need pic of IN BED spare tire carrier
Interesting...I might have one out of a '72. I will have to "test fit" it.

I'm learning new things all the time around here. Great!

Re: Need pic of IN BED spare tire carrier
Old thread but anyone ever try, or imagine, using an extra rear wheelhouse inverted -between regular wheelhouse and front bed panel? Sort of recessed in the bed, so the tire sits low almost out of sight. Drain hole for water. Ability to bolt/secure/lock spare to inside bed wall or bracket. Maybe wouldn’t work since it would weaken the cross bars? This would be on a Long Fleetside. Want to relocate fuel tank from cab to under bed so will lose that spare tire space. I want to be able to use the bed to haul stuff so I don’t want the spare just laying in the bed. Yes, Mr. Prepared wants to carry a spare, and a jack, and a lug wrench!
Am I stupid to try this? If so talk me out of it! |
Re: Need pic of IN BED spare tire carrier
Yes, that has been done.

My 75 Sub had the spare carrier inside... probably where that came from.
