Transmission hump/transfer case shifter
 

Can any one help me figure out what I have in my Blazer. 1972, 4spd, np 205 transfer case.

Here is an overall shot. Guessing it is a transmission hump from an automatic based on the fact that the transmission shifter hole is just cut out.

The transfer case shifter is off. When it is all the way forward in 2 lo, it is no where near the forward edge of the hole in the hump.

I'm not sure the transfer case will actually move all the way back to get into 4 high. I think it is hitting the back of the hole first. I'm pretty sure this is 2 hi:

What do I need to do to fix this? Proper 4spd transmission hump? Correct shifter for transfer case?

Theres two types of trany humps. Haha tranny humps! Ok theres two types, a high and a low. Yours looks to be a low hump. My 350 4spd 4x4 has a high hump so im 99.9% percent sure thats what you need. Im not sure what combos get the low hump or high hump Others will chime in and set it straigh

could also have been a 3 on the tree and somebody converted to a 4 speed later on and just cut a hole. cant remember if my 69 blazer with 3 on the tree has a low hump or high hump. (its in storage)

Been doing a little research. Think I may have a '73+ shifter on the transfer case.

Your cover is a high hump cover. Low humps floors don't typically have a removable cover at all and are extremely rare. I've only ever seen one. Looks like you have a SM465 transmission, which is a stock original for these trucks. The hole for the transfer case shifter looks like it's in the right spot compared to my cover but the shifter seems to be back about an ich further. I can't make a direct comparison to yours though because mine has a TH350 auto. The shifter boot will cover the holes just fine. As far as shifter movement for the t-case, you'll just have to try it out once the boot is on. It should work fine. If you are going to have a center console you might want to set that in place to test also, see if the shifter hits it.

the high hump came in 4x4, 4 speeds and big block trucks only.
