Motor and trany options

I need a new motor for my 1971 truck with 3.73 rearend. I can go with either with a 1989 350 chev truck 180,000 miles/700r4 or 1984 307 buick lesabre 90,000 miles/200r4. I do not pull anything with this truck so the power does not matter to me. I am leaning toward the Buick choice as it has less mileage. My main concern is which would be the easiest to install and get better mileage?

Re: Motor and trany options

That 307 is going to be an Oldsmobile engine if it came from a 1984 Buick. The 350 would be an easier bolt in on the mounts. Myself I would refresh the 350 and use the 200 4r out of the Buick (200 4Rs are dual pattern usually and will bolt to BOP or Chevy).

Thanks I will use the 350 then with the 700r4 if it will bolt right in.
